Koenigsegg Gemera
Koenigsegg Gemera
The Koenigsegg Gemera is the world's first "Mega-GT," a groundbreaking four-seater hypercar that combines extreme performance with family-friendly practicality. Its advanced hybrid powertrain can produce up to 2,300 horsepower in its V8 configuration, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 1.9 seconds. Inside, the cabin comfortably accommodates four tall adults and includes unique amenities like eight heated and cooled cup holders, front and rear infotainment screens, and space for four carry-on suitcases.
Exterior
The Koenigsegg Gemera is a four-seat "Mega GT" featuring a long, sleek silhouette with a signature wraparound jet-fighter-inspired windshield and hidden A-pillars. It features massive, two-meter-long Automated Twisted Synchrohelix Actuation Doors (KATSAD) that allow easy access to the four-seat cabin without needing a B-pillar. The exterior design pays homage to the 1996 Koenigsegg CC prototype while incorporating large side air intakes and top-mounted exhausts. It rides on 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels, with options for lightweight Aircore carbon fiber rims. The rear features a prominent diffuser, while the overall body is designed for both high aerodynamic efficiency and practical road use. Exterior cameras replace traditional side mirrors, and the car can be equipped with an optional roof box for added storage. A fun fact is that Koenigsegg used to use Mercedes windscreen wipers but recently changed them because of how extreme the curve on the windscreen is!
Performance
The Koenigsegg Gemera produces up to 2,300 horsepower and 2,750 Nm of torque in its V8 hybrid configuration. It achieves a 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) time of 1.9 seconds, offering acceleration comparable to top-tier two-seat hypercars. The powertrain utilizes a "Dark Matter" electric motor combined with a twin-turbo V8, designed for both high performance and efficiency. It features all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, and all-wheel torque vectoring for maximum stability and handling. The vehicle has a top speed exceeding 400 km/h (250+ mph) and features a carbon fiber monocoque for extreme rigidity. Production is strictly limited to 300 units, blending luxurious four-person seating with unprecedented megacar performance! The original engine that was going to be used was a 3-cylinder engine, dubbed "The Friendly Giant", or "TFG". The 3-cylinder used revolutionary technology, to output 600+ horsepower. The reason this was not sold, was because Koenigsegg later realized that they could fit their Jesko V8 in the Gemera, causing them to switch the engine options.
Interior
The Gemera has a very futuristic look to it. Being a car made by Koenigsegg, there are some very nice materials used. These include alcantara, leather, and carbon fiber. These materials come together to make one of the most fascinating interiors of all time. One of the main goals in the Gemera is equality for everyone. Every person in the car has the same experience. There are rear racing seats, 4 rear cupholders (In hot and cold), and access to a big center screen. These are in front and rear.
Pricing
The 2025 Koenigsegg Gemera starts at an eye-watering $1.7 million, making it the most “affordable” model in Koenigsegg’s ultra-exclusive lineup. This price can climb significantly depending on custom paint, interior finishes, and performance upgrade packages. Despite its four-seat practicality, the Gemera is still very much a megacar, blending luxury with extreme performance. For collectors and enthusiasts, its rarity and engineering innovation make the cost part of its allure.
