The Ram TRX

The Ram TRX

The Ram TRX is the most insane truck in the world! It has over 700 hundred supercharged horsepower, has an 8 inch wide body, and has an incredibly loud exhaust! The TRX also has a lot of off-road upgrades. It has huge tires that are 35 inches and it has Bilstein shocks that are lifted to give the truck 12 inches of ground clearance. It also has the ability to go into water up to 32 inches deep. One downside of having 700 horsepower from a supercharged engine, and weighing 6,440 pounds is, the fuel efficiency is horrendous.  10 mpg in the city and 14 on the highway make the TRX the least fuel efficient truck ever! The TRX also looks like a monster truck! Having an aggressive stance and crazy fitment make it look like something custom made for Monster Jam! Another thing that I like is that the hood scoop is actually functional and very much needed.

Powertrain

The engine is a 6.2 liter supercharged v8 that produces 702 horsepower! 702  horsepower is crazy powerful, but that is actually the least of all the cars that have the Hellcat engine. This is because Ram had to reduce the airflow so that no rocks or other debris could enter the engine. The reduced airflow means less power. There are also a lot of hidden easter eggs in the TRX mostly related to how much better the TRX is than the Ford Raptor. There is an image of a t-rex with a velociraptor in its mouth.

Handling

It’s not just the engine that’s over-the-top, either; the whole truck is built like a tank. Those Bilstein Black Hawk e2 shocks are crazy—they use "Jump Detection" to realize when you’re airborne and instantly prep the suspension for a pillowy landing so you don't snap an axle. Even the frame is a beast, using 74% high-strength steel to handle all that torque and off-road abuse without folding. Inside, it’s like a luxury jet with a massive 12-inch touchscreen and carbon fiber everywhere, but with a dedicated Launch Control button that'll let you smoke sports cars at a red light. It’s a street-legal trophy truck that hits 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and sounds like a literal monster.

Interior

The interior is also a great improvement over the regular Ram 1500. There is also a lot of off road information available on the infotainment system. Another easter egg is, on the dashboard there is a picture of a 1 : 60 scale with a human, a TRX, an actual t-rex, and a tiny velociraptor in the corner. Ram did this to show the correct scale of how much better the TRX is than the Ford Raptor!

Pricing

Pricing for the Ram 1500 TRX varies significantly by model year, as the vehicle has transitioned from a supercharged V8 powerhouse to a newly announced high-performance successor. For the final production year of the V8 model in 2024, the base MSRP started at approximately $96,340. However, specialized trims like the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition pushed costs much higher, with a starting price of $117,625(excluding destination fees). Fully optioned versions of these trucks can easily exceed $125,000. Looking forward, the 2027 Ram 1500 TRX is expected to start at $102,590, reflecting a price increase for its upgraded 777-horsepower engine and more luxurious interior. There are also a lot of companies that make custom TRX models such as the Mammoth made by Hennessey, and the Apocalypse TRX made by Apocalypse Manufacturing.
