2026 Ford Mustang
Mustang
The Ford Mustang is the most popular muscle/pony car. It’s also one of the most iconic American cars. The range of models that are available is very impressive! It can start at 30 thousand dollars and go up to around 300 thousand dollars!
Exterior
The exterior of all the models have very similar features and design. The grill has a trapezoidal shape and the lights are made up of 3 led segments each giving the Mustang a very distinctive appearance. The tail lights are also made up of 3 led segments each. The different generations of mustang have all shared elements with each other in the exterior design (except 4th gen) and that allows the Mustang to be one of the most recognizable cars on Earth!
Interior
The interior of the mustang doesn't vary that much through all the different models. It is a very simple interior with not that many features. It may seem sad, but even the GTD, the top of the line model that costs upwards of 300k, has basically the same interior of the 30k base ecoboost. The only differences are the materials and some of the higher end ones, such as the RTR, have drift hand brakes. Also in the GTD there is one cool thing completely different from the other models! In the interior, there is a window (where there would normally be rear seats) to see the incredible racing suspension!
Performance
The 2026 Ford Mustang lineup features a diverse range of performance-focused trims, led by the track-oriented Dark Horse and Dark Horse Premium. These top-tier models utilize a modified 5.0L Coyote V8 engine that delivers a powerful 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque, paired with a specialized TREMEC 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. For enthusiasts seeking a classic V8 experience, the Mustang GT and GT Premium offer 480 horsepower (up to 486 hp with an optional active exhaust) and 415 lb-ft of torque. Entry-level EcoBoost trims focus on efficiency without sacrificing agility, featuring a 2.3L turbocharged engine providing 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, exclusively mated to a 10-speed automatic. Beyond the core trims, the 2026 model year introduces the extreme, race-bred Mustang GTD, a street-legal supercar targeting over 800 horsepower from a supercharged 5.2L V8. The ‘drift’ cars have a hydraulic drift brake and 2 huge, separate intakes in the grill. These make the RTR look a lot like the Formula Drift Mustang RTR’s.
Pricing
Pricing on the Mustang varies a lot by trim. The base trim level Ecoboost offers a crazy bang for your buck costing $32,640. The next major step up is the GT. This is the first mustang trim that has a V8 engine. The GT costs $46,560.The next trim is the Dark Horse. The Dark Horse has a crazy engine and a lot of other performance upgrades. THis makes the price go up to $59,270. This price may sound crazy, but with all the cool features it has, the price is completely worth it. All of these trim levels that I just mentioned all have a premium variant, that adds a lot of interior luxury features to the car. And last but definitely not least, the GTD! The GTD almost isn’t considered a Mustang because of how little it shares with any other trim models. This is because of the huge widebody, the aggressive front grill style, and of course the swan neck rear wing, that all give this Mustang a crazy, track-focused hyper car look!
